Lil' Monkey Treat Wagon

I know I've been a slacker lately but things have been pretty crazy around our house for the past few weeks.  My son that has MS has been fighting pneumonia so we've had lots of doctors visits in addition to the regular appointments.  I've got to get my act together and get some ideas done for favors for my granddaughters baby shower coming up next month.  I'd seen one like this over on the Add Ink and Stamp website so I had to CASE it.  I changed the colors and the label a bit but you get the idea.  I've got a couple of other ideas but I've got to get some put together.  I'm going to try to do another tomorrow night after the chores are done.  Thanks for stopping by and we'll see ya' again soon.

Tropical Mini Album

I've been working on a mini album for my daughter for Mother's Day and I just wanted to share it with you.  I didn't have enough light so the pictures aren't the best but here goes.  This is a Tropical Party - Things I Love...mini album.  The Island Oasis DSP in the new Summer Mini is probably one of my favorite DSP - the colors are so bright and cheerful I'm hoping mother nature gets a look at this and decides that winter needs to be over.

I had to substitute some Pink Pirouette ribbon because I didn't have any that was wide and the right colors. 
I got the idea from Dawn Olschefske - but I had never made one before.  It was really easy to put together until I had to find the right pictures.  I can see myself making more of these cute little things.  I even got to use my favorite new tool the Sizzix.  I used the Clear Scallop Square to cut the chipboard and cardstock for the back, Scallop Circles #2 and Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder. 

The new set Tropical Party in the Summer Mini reminds me of sun, sandy beaches, umbrella drinks, ocean waves, palm trees - omg are we in Puerta Vallarta yet?

  There you have it - Marlo and Ty and their family - Brittany and husband Barak, Wyatt and Jaden.  what a bunch of cuties.  Well that's all for now I'm off to get horizontal and relax for the rest of the evening.

Awash With Flowers (CASE)

cathy I got a box of new goodies yesterday - Oh Boy it's almost like Christmas whenever the guy in brown shows up at my door.  This set is a sneak peek for a set that will be in the big new Idea Book 2010-2011 on July 1.  There's still time to order this adorable Two Step set - you have until April 30th - Friday to place or order by pushing the button in the top right hand corner that says "Shop Now" and will take you to my Stampin' Up! website where you can do your shopping.  The item # for the clear mount is 120549 which sells for $27.95 plus tax and S&H.  Let me know if you have any questions.  Okay onto the good stuff.  When I saw this card on Gretchen Barrons blog a few days ago I new I had to try my hand at this technique.  It's called Faux Stained Glass.  You take a piece of vellum cardstock and stamp your image in Black Craft ink and then emboss with Black ep.  Then the fun begins and you turn that piece over and take your markers and color in your images - you could use our watercolor crayons as well.  When you have the colors you like take a blender pen and kind of push the colors around until your happy.  After that all you have to do is assemble your card.  One more thing I used my new embossing folder out of the Summer Mini which goes live on Saturday May 1st - can't wait.  One of the benefits of being a Stampin' Up demonstrator is that we get to pre-order before the catty's come out so we are all ready to play when you can buy.  Isn't is stunning.  Please let me know what you think of this new set and hurry and get yours now before it's too late and you have to wait two whole months.  That's it for now I've got to pack it up and go get some relaxation time before hitting the sack.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like what you've seen.

My Rag Bag for Spring

Well I've finally got it done.  I started last weekend but had a few interruptions and my nights seemed to be pretty busy.  Brittany, my granddaughter came over last night and started to cut one out for her and I got mine finished up last night.  I'm thinking it might need a flower or something to give it a bit more pizazz - what do you think?  Let me know if it needs a little something to finish it off.  It's been snowing here all day today and I'm really ready for Spring  so I hope when we spring forward tonight that will convince Mother Nature that it's finally time for some permanent sunshine and blue skies.  Don't forget to turn your clocks ahead an hour when you go to bed tonight and we'll see you soon.  Let me know what you think of my bag.

Go Green for Spring

Good morning to all - I hope your Sunday is going well.  Just thought I'd share a couple of those cute lil' Mini Milk Cartons with the Sizzix die in the SU Occasions Mini.  I did one for St Patricks Day as a sample for a lady I work with but I had to use those adorable butterflies that you can make with the Embosslits Die in the Occasions Mini and make one that had spring written all over it.  These are soooo easy to put together.  My granddaughter came over last night and we had six of them done for the people at her work in nothing flat.   Well I've gotta run now but I'll be back later today.  Have a good day and spend it with those you love.

Punchy Lil' Luv' Frogs

I've seen a lot of punch art things done since I've become a demo but wasn't that interested.  But lately I've tried my hand at a couple of bookmarks and things but when I saw a picture of this card I just had to case it.  I ended up on a blog that I'd never been to before and watched a video tutorial on how to put this together so I just had to try one yesterday at Britt's workshop.

I just think that is too cute don't you.  One of my customers had to make one for her husband before she left yesterday.  They really aren't that hard.  All of the pieces for the frogs were done with my Stampin' Up punches.  I'm kind of a punch junkie so I love to play with them.  If you want the directions shoot me an email and I'll get them right out to you.  Enjoy the rest of your Super Bowl Sunday and be safe in whatever you do.  Thanks for looking.

Sweet Treat Heart Cup Valentine

I'm having a lot of fun with the new Sweet Treat Hearts cups that Stampin' Up just came out with.  I've a got a workshop this Saturday and we are going to make some of these.  These are just a cute little "treat" valentine.  I started with a Melon Mambo Base 4-1/4 x 5-1/2.  I stamped with a heart from my new Clear Mount set Sweetheart in Rich Razzleberry and now the fun begins.  I punched out the center with the Full Heart Punch.  The next layer is Rich Razzleberry which I punched with the Scallop Border punch which I got for FREE out of the Sale-a-bration catalog.  Then I lined it up with my white layer and punched the heart out.  I've got a slider between the base and the Rich Razzleberry so you don't have to rip the card apart to eat the yummy M&M's.  I measured my layers on the base and then punched my heart thru the front of the card. I put mini glue dots on the front lip of the Sweet Treat Cup and adhered that to the first two layers.   I stamped my sentiment from Whimsical Words from SAB in Melon Mambo.  I used dimensionals on the back of the Rich Razzleberry piece to guide my slider and attached it to the base of my card.  I used the Small Heart punch out of the Occasions Mini for the hearts on the end of my slider piece and filled with M & M's and voila I was done.  I took one of these cute little treats to my hairdresser yesterday just to say "thanks" and everyone in the salon thought they were just adorable.  If you would like more detailed instructions please let me know and I'll get them to you.  Well that's all for now I'm off to relax a bit before I have to start the week all over.  Thanks for checking in.

I (Heart) Hearts Easel Card

  I've seen a lot of beautiful easel cards in my blog surfing days but had never tried one.  I was checking Dawn Griffiths blog out the other day and she had an awesome card something like this one.  I watched her tutorial and took down measurements and I think it turned out pretty good.  Thanks Dawn for the help.  I started with a Lovely Lilac base.  I got out my FREE Scallop Border Punch from the Sale-A-Bration catty and the Corner Scallop Punch and set out to punch all the way around - not bad for my first try. I layered the Whisper White c/s on a piece of Basic Black.  I punched one side of the Whisper White c/s on the base and then layered a piece of Basic Black.  I stamped a couple of different hearts from the I (Heart) Hearts set and cut one out and layered with dimensionals.  The heart on the base of the card was punched with the Full Heart punch and then another from the I (Heart) Hearts set is popped with a dimensional which helps make sure the card stands up.  The sentiment comes from Whimsical Words which I got FREE for placing a $50 order.  I'll post a picture below so you can get a side view.  I'll try to have a pdf tutorial posted in a day or so.  If you can't wait give me a shout and I'll email it to you.  Thanks for stopping by - till later.  Cathy

Heart Sweet Treat

I finally got to try the new Heart Sweet Treat cups that SU released when the Occasions Mini came out this month.  I started with a Real Red card base and then tried my new clear mount stamp Sweetheart stamped in Real Red ink on Pretty in Pink c/s.  I used the full heart punch and stamped in the center and then lined it up on the base and punched it again.  I wanted to make a slider to keep my little M&M's in place until I was ready to eat them and I used Whisper white and the Tab punch.  The cute little heart that says love on it from the I Heart Hearts set was stamped in Pretty in Pink and then I used the Heart to Heart punch to get a couple of different sized hearts.  The sentiment is from the FREE yes I said  Sale-A-Bration set called Whimsical Words.  Just go to my 24 Hour Stampin' Up! Delightful Decorations 3D

Hi to all my little peeps out there in blogland.  Are you all ready for "Turkey Day" tomorrow?  I just took the pumpkin pies out of the oven.  I just wanted to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for stopping by occasionally.  This card is kind of a fun one to make.  I used the decoration punch from the Holiday Mini to punch the front of my card and I moved it just a sliver to one side and punched again to make it large enough for the decoration to pop thru.  I used another favorite - Delightful Decorations set - and stamped one of them three times in Soft Suede.  I kind of folded them in half and glued them together in the front and then used a bit of snail and glued them to the inside of my card.  The fun thing is they will fold flat in an envelop for mailing.  I think I'm going to use this technique and get mine done and in the mail.  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check my My Stampin' Up! website for the great Black Friday Sale that SU is having until next Monday.  Don't miss out on some of the best bargains this year.  I'll be back tomorrow with some more fun things to show you.  Bye for now.
