King of the Grill Fathers Day

I've got two quick posts for today.  I thought I'd better get one of these done before Father's Day actually arrived.  I used Not Quite Navy for the base and then a layer of Tropical Party DSP that I ran  thru my Big Shot with the Square Lattice folder.  The next layer is a new Color starting next month called Cherry Cobler - I'll try to give you some sneak peeks over the next few weeks of new colors and  stamps from the new Idea Book and Catalog coming July 1st.  If you live in the US and don't have a demonstrator to call your own please let me know if you would like one of the new catalogs - this year I'll give you one FREE! for a $50 order between now and June 30th.  Stay tuned I'll have another post up shortly.

Loads of Fun B-Day

My grandson turns 16 later this month and this cute lil pickup reminds me of the truck he and his dad have been restoring for him.  Of course it has to have some shiny tin foil in the background and his motorcycle on the back.  I post the details later I've got to get busy, lots to do today - it's Saturday and it's sunny and supposed to be in the 80's - yeah!  I'll be back later tonight with some more goodies.  Have a fabulous day and I hope you can enjoy the sunshine wherever you are.

Sweet Motorcycle Father's Day

  I had some time to "play" today with some of the new toys that I got last week.  I absolutely love the new Square Lattice embossing folder for my Sizzix.  I glued a piece of aluminum foil to a piece of whisper white c/s and ran it thru the Sizzix.  I like the idea of single stamps that Stampin' UP! has come out with lately.  This motorcycle stamp will help with some of the masculine cards that I need to have on hand.  I just stamped with Black Stazon and colored with my markers.  It needed something more so I got out my handy dandy spritzer and gave it a bit of pizazz.  I hope you've had a good weekend and thanks for stopping by.  Stop by again soon.

Skater Dude B-Day

 It was my grandsons 14th birthday last Monday and sometimes it's difficult to get something on paper that they will take a second look at.  I used the Extreme Elements set on my MDS for the background - kind of nice having things on my computer that I don't actually own yet.  I just thought I'd remind you what Pacific Point looks like because it's coming back in the new IBC on July 1st.  I inked up the Extreme Skateboarder in Pacific Point and Versamark and then embossed in clear ep and then cut the little guy out so I could attach to the background.  I needed a bit more "WOW" factor so I covered the whole piece with versamark ink and then covered with Glassy Glaze and took the heat tool to hit - that puts quite a shine to it.  You can kind of see it.  He seemed to like it but I think he liked the money inside more - but he'll save it and put it with all the others I've made.  Thanks for looking.  Later 

MDS Male Birthday

Evening peeps, I was playing around with some ideas on MDS and I came up with a birthday card for a male and I thought I'd post to see what you guys thought.  I'm still trying to get familiar with the software and there is so much to learn and play with I sometimes run out of time.  Give me some ideas and next time I'll see what I can come up with.  It's cold, rainy, windy and is supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow - not very nice weather for Easter on Sunday.  I guess we can hold the easter egg hunt in the house and hide eggs all over the front room..haha.  I think my grandkids are a bit too old for that.  I hope all of you out there in blog land have a wonderful Easter weekend.  Remember now enjoy the ones you are with and make sure to give them all a hug.  Bye for now.

Punchy Lil' Luv' Frogs

I've seen a lot of punch art things done since I've become a demo but wasn't that interested.  But lately I've tried my hand at a couple of bookmarks and things but when I saw a picture of this card I just had to case it.  I ended up on a blog that I'd never been to before and watched a video tutorial on how to put this together so I just had to try one yesterday at Britt's workshop.

I just think that is too cute don't you.  One of my customers had to make one for her husband before she left yesterday.  They really aren't that hard.  All of the pieces for the frogs were done with my Stampin' Up punches.  I'm kind of a punch junkie so I love to play with them.  If you want the directions shoot me an email and I'll get them right out to you.  Enjoy the rest of your Super Bowl Sunday and be safe in whatever you do.  Thanks for looking.

Heart Treat Sprinkles

I sometimes have a hard time making a "manly" card because a lot of Stampin' Up products look to frilly and pink to give to a man.  I had a workshop yesterday and my daughter needed a card for her hubby and this design seemed to fit the fill with a few of her own changes.

We also made one of these adorable "mini milk cartons with the die from the Occasions Mini.  They are so easy to put together but they are just too cute don't you think.

We also did one of these cute little Heart Treat Cups with a slider.  They are a lot easier to put together that then look.  Shoot me an email and I'll send instruction on how to make this cute little thing.  I'll be posting the last card that I showed them shortly.  Until then thanks for stopping in.

Male Sympathy Card

I thought I'd post this sympathy card that I made for a fellow co-worker.  His mother passed away yesterday and we all want to donate so I thought It would be nice to have a home-made card to go along with it.  I started with a kraft base, then a layer of DSP from the Christmas Cocoa paper from the Holiday Mini.  It needed a little something more so I did a layer of Soft Suede and then stamped the tree from Thoughts & Prayers on Very Vanilla.  I distressed the edges and rubbed a bit of Soft Suede around the edges and sponged a bit around the image.  Of course I had to add three brads and then I called it good.  Thanks for stopping by.

You Rock

I was just playing around and had seen one similar on someones blog several months back but can't remember who.  I embossed one on black with silver ep and one on silver with black ep and then cut in half and put together.  I'wanted to make this for one a masculine card so I had to figure something else out for his eyes.  I used one silver Hodgepodge brad on the black side and heated one up and dipped it in black ep and then let it set up and used it on the silver side.  For the background I glued some aluminum foil to a piece of cardstock and ran it thru my crimper three times turning a different way each time.  When you put it all together it looks awesome.

4-Wheelin ' B-Day

  It's my son-in-laws birthday tomorrow.  Well you know that masculine cards are sometimes hard to come up with but I think this will work.  My card base is Basic Black.  The first layer was Bashful Blue and then Real Red.  I used Confetti White for my background.  I used the Hit the Road set which is on the dormant list but can still be ordered.  I also used the Loads of Fun set which is new this year and embossed the 4-wheeler and the trailer.  I used my sponges for the sand and the sky and the sun which I had masked with a post it note.  I stamped the Party Hearty sentiment from the Party Hearty set and embossed.  I used the word window punch and matted on black c/s with two brads and I was done.  I hope he likes it.  That's all for now and thanks for stopping buy.
