Snow Globe Gift Card Holders

I've two teenage grandkids and I can't afford the "electronic gadgets they want this year so they are getting a gift card but I needed something ccute and different to put them in so here's what I can up with.  I did this one with Santa from the Jolliest Time of the Year set and filled my Sweet Treat Cup with water and SU Chunky Glitter and backed with a heavy window sheet and so far no leaking.  I'm hooked on Real Red and Kraft this year for some reason.  It just seems to hit the spot you know.

The next one is done with the snowman for the same set only I did this card in Brocade Blue with a touch of Whisper White and Bashful Blue.  You know Stampin' Up! is coming out with heart shaped Sweet Treat cups on January 5th when the new Occasions  Mini and Sale-A-Bration starts.  I can't wait cuz I just think they make some darn cute projects. 

Okay here's the second one with my little snowman and I've tried to make the glitter move so you can get the snowglobe effect - not too bad huh?

Retro Delightful Decorations

I'm really liking the Delightful Decorations punch from the SU Holiday Mini.  I punched out two images and then I sponged them with Taken with Teal and Old Olive classic ink using the template as a mask.  I used a small snowflake from the Snow Swirled set to give it a bit of a design.  It looks really good IRL.  A little scallop punch across the bottom and a bit of silver elastic cord and another for the pile to mail this weekend.  I've got another card and a tile to show so stay tuned now don't go away for a moment. 

Christmas Gift Card Holder

I've got some gift cards to give away this year and I needed something that would keep them in place but look nice and festive.  This is one I came up with.  It's pretty simple.  Just your basic real red card base folded in thirds.  A little bit of kraft, soft suede, Christmas Cocoa DSP. and whisper white cardstock.  I used the Jingle All The Way stamp out of the Christmas Classics set stamped in Real Red.  Here's a picture of the inside shown below.

 A little Christmas Cocoa DSP and then I punched the edge of the flap with the Word Window punch to make it easier to grab hold of the card.  These are pretty simple to make and change the colors any way your little heart desires.  That's it for tonight I need to get ready for a workshop on Saturday.  Have a good night and thanks for looking.

Delightful Decorations with Window Sheets

I was experimenting with non-traditional colors for this card but I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.  I used Rich Razzleberry for the base.  Then I took a snowfall window sheet from the Holiday Mini and cut it the same size as the front of my card and put snail across the top so you couldn't see the adhesive.  I punched one side of Brushed Silver and Basic Black and stamped with the Heard from the Heart christmas stamp, wound some silver elastic cord around it three times and stuck it to the top of my card.  I put a rub-on on a piece of Brushed Silver and then punched it out.  I took a piece of Whisper White c/s and stamped a decoration using Versamark and Rich Razzleberry ink and then embossed in clear ep.  When it cooled I punched and adhered both to the window sheet.  I used a silver rub-on as the sentiment on the inside of the card.  Not bad for non-traditional colors.  What do you think?  How's your Thanksgiving weekend going?  Did you eat too much, shop too much or just rest and relax?  I think that rest and relax sounds pretty good right not and that's where I'm headed.  Don't forget the big Stampin' Up Sale which is only good for two more days.  Hurry before all the good stuff is gone.  Just click here to go to my Stampin' Up website and then check out the links on the left hand side for all the good deals.  Don't forget the Clearance Rack, I understand they just added a bunch more stuff up to 80% off.  That's better than Black Friday any day of the week. Delightful Decorations CAS

I wanted to keep the Clean and Simple look with this one and I think I did pretty good.  For my decorations I punched two out of Night of Navy cardstock and then set to decorating with the Brushed Silver - punching and cutting until I had it just the way I wanted it.  I used the greeting from Christmas Classics and embossed in silver.  I punched the botton of the Brushed Silver layer and added a simple sentiment on the inside in Night of Navy and I was done.  Leave me a note and let me know how you like it.  I've got another card to post so see you in a minute.

Delightful Decorations 3D

Hi to all my little peeps out there in blogland.  Are you all ready for "Turkey Day" tomorrow?  I just took the pumpkin pies out of the oven.  I just wanted to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for stopping by occasionally.  This card is kind of a fun one to make.  I used the decoration punch from the Holiday Mini to punch the front of my card and I moved it just a sliver to one side and punched again to make it large enough for the decoration to pop thru.  I used another favorite - Delightful Decorations set - and stamped one of them three times in Soft Suede.  I kind of folded them in half and glued them together in the front and then used a bit of snail and glued them to the inside of my card.  The fun thing is they will fold flat in an envelop for mailing.  I think I'm going to use this technique and get mine done and in the mail.  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check my My Stampin' Up! website for the great Black Friday Sale that SU is having until next Monday.  Don't miss out on some of the best bargains this year.  I'll be back tomorrow with some more fun things to show you.  Bye for now.

Sweet Treet Snow Globe

I just have to say that I love the Sweet Treet cups and stamps.  I saw a video on Roxy's blog about how to make a "snow globe" that didn't leak.  Check her blog out here.  It's a lot easier than it looks.  Take a look and let me know what you think.  I started with a Whisper White card base and then cut a layer of Real Red and also a piece of the flocked DSP from the Christmas Cocoa series.  I held them both together and punched with the 1-3/4" circle punch.  Next comes the fun part.  I poured a bit of water in the cup about 2/3 full and then put about 1/8 tsp of Chunky Glitter in the water.  Peel off the adhesive strip around the outside of the cup.  I cut a piece of heavy window sheet and stuck it on the back of the cup and pressed really good to make sure it was sealed.  Then I stamped my little snowman from the Jolliest Time of the Year set and colored him and punched him out as well.  I used snail on the lip of the cup to glue it to the back of my Real Red cardstock and then just to make sure I took two longer pieces of sticky strip and put across the back of the cup extending it onto the back of the red cardstock.  Then all I had to do was finish the rest of my card.  I'd like to hear your comments on this one.  If you have any questions or would like some more info please let me know.  That's all for now I'm off to watch a bit of television and relax.  Thanks for stoppping by and don't forget to check out my Stampin' Up! Merry and Bright

Hi Everyone

I hope your Monday went well.  I just wanted to post a couple of cards that I made yesterday while stamping with my granddaughter Brittany.  I think this color combo has become one of my favorites.  I used Soft Suede as the card base.  I layered a piece of Sahara Sand punched with the Ticket Corner punch and then a piece of DSP from the Christmas Cocoa set out of the Holiday Mini.  I used a couple of different pieces all out of the same set.  I stamped one of the Serene Snowflakes in Real Red Classic ink and of course used another punch, the scallop circle.  I found the Merry & Bright stamp that I bought several weeks ago and forgot about.  It's one of the individual stamps on the last page of the Idea Book and Catalog.  I've got another so please take a look.

Delightful Decorations CASE

I was blog surfing the other day and ran across a beautiful card.  I thought I wrote the website down but have torn my desk apart looking and am not able to find it.  I changed the design of both decorations and used a different greeting and different ribbon.  In real life it looks very elegant.  I love the new Delightful Decorations set and the matching punch out of the Holiday Mini.  I layered some Brushed Gold on Whisper White and used Encore gold ink for the greeting.  The decorations are punched out of Brushed Gold and then decorated with different layers and a stamp of Soft Suede.  I finished it off with a scallop punch along the edge.  Tied my Very Vanilla ribbon and put it all together and I was done.  It really was a fairly quick card to put together.  I'm off to relax a bit before hittin' the sack and getting ready for another day.  Thanks for stopping by.  Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.  Bye for now.
